Hello world,
Just another update for ya so here goes, the week has been very busy to say the least,
on Wednesday, I went to on open Mic night , which I try to do has often has I can, If you was their then maybe you would understand what I’m going on about but I felt very out of sorts, has most of the mc’s were doing their thing but truth be told I did not understand half of what they were saying, I only seemed to cotton on to a few words here and there like yea yea and me me and bits like that, I thought to myself dem its like I left England and gone to a land where people just grunt and moan on the Mic, one dude was trying to come across with a heartfelt performance type thing, but has I said it all sounded a bit gibberish and he almost sounded like he was going to burst out into tears for a little while has he had a very crying like tone to his voice, I did understand that he was rapping about hard times and such but not being funny he sounded like a baby whose rattle got taken away from him, next up was a guy from Leeds I think it was, he was rapping on one of his own hip-hop beats which he made and I must say it sounded really good, a nice clubby track that is very danceable so I was very impressed, until he opened his mouth that is, he was chanting for the longest time then started rapping but about half way into his verse he came across like he had forgotten his words of something has he just started saying arr err and that’s the stuff, big it up big, I mean what the fuck was all that about? Bless him for trying though, remember it not easy for most people to go on stage and perform, but for me at that point the performance was over has he was back to chanting on the rest of the track with no verse in sight, but anyway after that I got up on stage and done my thing I only performed one track and free styled on another but I think it went well, the crowd seemed to warm up to me very nicely so I was happy, and i guess if it was a crap show I would of heard about it by now but has always I will leave them comments for others to review, love me or hate me ha-ha.
Thursday I was in the studio recording most of the day, the next day I got up around 8am and went shopping for a few last minute bits that I needed for the video shoot, after I done that I was mainly at home that day on the phone sorting out and confirming arrangements and sending emails that sort of thing, I must say the day seemed to run away very fast for me but around 6pm I had to stop all I was doing and make sure I put in a few hours rehearsing time before I sort myself out to go to bed.
Saturday I got up at 10:30am, don’t ask me why I woke up so late after having an early night I don’t understand it myself! I was more pissed off at the fact that I have had no phone call from anybody to ask what was going and where I was at, but anyway a few hours later I spoke to the who’s who and was dressed and ready to go out and to my thing at this video shoot, all I had to do next was load up my gear in the car, head over to west London to meet up with the actress, but by the time I got their I was so upset it was unreal, has it took me just under three hours to get their because of some dem water main that had been fucked on the A4 after Chiswick round about junction and the traffic tale back was all the way has far back has Battersea, and it took me an hour and a half just to get back to south London after coming back from west London, which upset me even more, has you can imagine my phone had been ringing off the chain so some much because I was so late, it come to the point where it just stopped ringing at all for a long while and the next calls were just normal and totally unrelated, but I got there in the end it was very late about 6:30 in the evening, but I was determined to get some work done has I did not want the hole day to be a total waste of time, so has soon as I got out of the car I started making my phone calls and rallying all the troops I could to keep the plan of this video shoot alive, has you may or may not of guessed some of the places which were booked to used for the shoot was or would be a total right off by the time we would have gotten there from one film location to the other, but my director Mr Speakz was very understanding about my effort and my willingness to salvage the concept of still filming even if most of the day and bookings had been lost, so we working has much with the plan and storyboard has much as we could, but worked around and adjusted the filming and planed scenes for what we had to work with, in the end, we filmed the rest of the evening into the deep hours of the morning and had to call it a day around 5am, so by this point we filmed more of less most of the footage we needed to get us back on track for the next scenes to be filmed in two weeks time, has you may of also guessed we did have to do a lot of major adjustments to the filming ideas that was planned and put in and place at the beginning, but I think we worked very hard and although a lot of it was totally different to the original plans I think we did very well.
I must say thank you to all the people involved who helped maintain the video shoot and supported it in what felt like our darkest hour.
